The Anatomy of a Street project draws its inspiration from critical studies examining the way how architecture is embedded in social, political and economic contexts, and how architectural objects, symbols and constellations can be described and decoded in specific local settings, as well as in broader global networks. The case studies – streets and neighbourhoods from various locations: Budapest, Pécs, London, Warsaw and Belgrade – differ geographically, historically and culturally, as well as architecturally. Contrasts, parallels and synchrony are among the main questions that Anatomy of a Street raises, while addressing the evolution of various examples of the European high street.

Délaissé (Marie Tavernier) et
Grand Paris: Le président et l’architecte (Bregtje van der Haak)

Wonderland invites teams from around Europe to propose new ideas and concepts to foster the social coherence of the Parisian «banlieue» (suburbs). Together with local and international architecture teams, wonderland enables them to discuss the current situation and to find new strategies and ways, which could help, improve neglected social problems. The ideas should give an impulse to the local situation and help ignite a debate while generating transferable concepts. This Project Space is organised in partnership with 6b, integrated in FAR summer programme.

JULY 2, Berlin > Die Planung / A Terv” # 25 (June/July 2011) Berlin Release

“Die Planung / A Terv” # 25 (June/July 2011) Berlin Release:

Die Planung / A Terv (“The Planning”) is a publication project for the utilization of the future, now. Die Planung / A Terv partially adopts the role of a utopian operation, in a print magazine format, seeking its own verification. Each of the three issues of the magazine carries a different date from the future (2011, 2036 and 2048) and is pre-released in the summer of 2007. These issues are in fact an advance from the future, and they will be published in those same future years in order to be “verified”. The apparently simple constellation of having the contributions written and designed from a future perspective encourages the emergence of a different reality, starting from the present circumstances. Around 60 international authors have been contributing to this operation with historical, futurological, sociological, philosophical, literary and artistic work from one of those specific future dates.

Die Planung / A Terv is edited and published from Berlin and Budapest by Sandra Bartoli, Martin Conrads, Silvan Linden, Levente Polyák and Katarina Šević.
