After the Cultural City is an international conference on new questions and issues of cultureled planning, urban development, architecture and the creative industries. In recent years the spatial and operational context of the urban public has been redefined by both the economic and political transformations of the global economic crises and the simultaneously growing importance of technology and networks in urban systems. These
processes have created new relationships between centre and periphery, built spaces and their users, also offering new roles for culture and innovation in architectural, institutional and infrastructural development.

The conference takes place with the help of characters who play leading roles in the international arena of both professional and academic fields. The lecturers present the latest cases and methods from all over the world, and the participants of the conference look for strategies that can be useful in connection with cultural city development for Hungary and Pécs. Those developmental models that have already established in the area of Center- and East Europe will get a special stress during the conference.
